What’s the best getaway car? GRiP Magazine seeks to find out.

Now this is the type of video that I wished would have been shot in the United States (it’s in German). GRiP Magazine felt the need to answer a specific question for its viewers. If you were being chased down by the German Police, what car would you choose as your getaway vehicle. The goal of each car chase is pretty obvious; get to the finish line before the officer in the nice little BMW catches you and tosses your ass in jail. The outlaw players in the bunch are an Audi TT-RS tuned by MTM, a Dodge Challenger SRT8 that I think is supercharged and what looks to be a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S tuned by Techart

Video: Porsche Undergoes DNA Test To Prove Its Babydaddy-ness

It’s a fairly quiet week as far as car news goes, what with many folks trying to get in some last-minute R&R before the busy fall season kicks off. That makes it a perfect time for Porsce to launch a new marketing campaign that explores the automaker’s high-performance pedigree. The campaign in question is more about the Porsche brand as a…

Report: Jaguar sports car concept bound for Paris

Filed under: Concept Cars , Performance , Europe , Paris Motor Show , Jaguar , Rumormill , Luxury With the Paris Motor Show a mere month away, automakers from around the globe are unleashing a barrage of teasers and rumors that hint to what will be on display. According to Auto Express , Jaguar is the latest company to let slip what it has planned. The murky report says the Leaping Cat will pull the covers off of an XK -sized sports car inspired by the Porsche 918 . While that likely means the concept will boast a fantastical hybrid drivetrain with more torque than sense, it doesn’t mean that Tata is going to fast-track this car for production

For $8,750, I Couldn’t Carrera Less [Nice Price Or Crack Pipe]

Iconic, idolized, and ass-engined, Porsche’s evergreen 911 has proven over the years to be aspirational and yet reasonably obtainable. Today’s Nice Price or Crack Pipe 1976 Targa aspires to be obtained, but does it require too much green? More

How much worse? How about a comparison test between a base Porsche Boxster and Ford’s turbocharged, torque-steering Focus RS

Like anything hailing from Stuttgart, any changes to Boxster’s chassis and exterior will be minor, with more shapely sheetmetal adorning the outside and a few minor modifications to the suspension, brakes and assorted underbody bits. Naturally, a few interior tweaks are part of the package, but the big news is the possible addition of a four-cylinder powerplant for the 2012 model year. While the 2.9- and 3.4-liter flat six-cylinder engines will likely carryover with minor bumps in horsepower and torque, there’s talk of a four-cylinder Boxster being added to Porsche’s line-up just above its oft-rumored entry-level model – a rebirth of the 914 co-developed with Volkswagen and Audi . Additionally, Porsche has confirmed it will begin testing three Boxsters with electric drivetrains next year, but technical details on the EVs have yet to be released.

What Do Classic Cars, Pin Up Girls, Tokyo Hotel And The Audi A1 Have In Common?

The answer, sadly, is, “I have absolutely no idea”, even after watching the above video numerous times. I think it’s some bizarre German staging of a pseudo drag-race, in Audi A1s, between two members of the band Tokyo Hotel. If you ask me, it needs about 35% less androgynous pop band members, 10% less Audi A1 and 40% more classic cars and pinup girls. What the Porsche 550 Spyder is doing in the midst of all that American iron is just another mystery the video doesn’t answer.
